Lichenostomus fasciogularis
I was hiding in some mangrove trees at Toorbul Point waiting for some godwits to raise their wings so that I could identify a Black-tailed Godwit beyond doubt.
I was there for an hour when suddenly, behind me, there came a scolding song saying "Move along, move along". I turned and there was a beautiful Mangrove Honeyeater only a few metres away. I snapped a few quick photos and then went back to my lonely vigil. Suddenly, some wings raised, and yes, a Black tailed Godwit!
